Most of the time in life and in business we turn out to be our own worst enemy. We black our own eyes. We trip ourselves down the stairs of our success. Challenge yourself right now to be a disruptor and not a destructor. Disruptors will simply alter the destination of the flow.
Recognize that no human role model today is perfect. Make sure that the team leading you has an action plan combined with advice instead of just blowing a bunch of hot air. Train yourself to see smoke and mirrors conversations in your clients, co-workers and in other agents. Most people have mastered this mindset with family, so why not business? Just think, if you really knew what the other person didn’t want you to know. This would allow you orchestrate the end result. It would enable you to be powerful without anyone suspecting your power and to lead without constantly having to scream “follow me”. This skill is invaluable both in business and in life.
Maybe the most important of all, is keeping an open mind. Listen to buyers, sellers and your co-workers. They may actually have the winning idea. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that you don’t know what you don’t know. People respect you, your honesty and your integrity when you say “I don’t know, but I will find the answer”. Are you the one blowing hot air?
