Give The True Gift Of Christmas
There are many non-profits that concentrate on individuals that are in need and it is not because they don't work or take advantage of government services. Many of these people have disabilities that are not severe enough to be recognized as a full disability so they basically fall through the cracks of the system and constantly struggle to survive.
There are many people that can't afford to pay for their utilities so they will literally be in the dark on Christmas many of these people have been hit with something in life they were not prepared to have to deal with; and most of us have been there at some time or another.
Then we have people that deal with depression especially this time of year! Depression is real and if you have never struggled with it or seen someone you love go through it you really can't understand it. The mind of a truly depressed person can't see any light at the end of the tunnel; please don't dismiss this condition, it is a devastating disease that we lose too many people to every year!
So my challenge to everyone in this last week prior to Christmas is give something to someone that needs it; even if it is just going and visiting with someone that is lonely; the act of giving does not have to be a monetary one!
