I grew up in the country and remember (but didnt appreciate then as much as now) the freedoms and therapy that living in the country provided. Yes, Dad made sure we did our share of chores, but we certainly enjoyed romping in the woods and building forts when the chores were done. There is alot to be said for the simpler life, and although todays lifestyles dont always help us enjoy alot of that, we can certainly help ourselves a bit by at least being able to come to home to a place where we can relax and gain inner focus and strength for the next day. Here is a link to some of the Upstates listings that have at least 2 acres within $100,000-$200,000....enough room to spread out and enjoy the birds and morning coffee, flowers or just playing outside with kids or grandkids without fear of traffic or making too much noise.
Take a look at let me know how I can help you find  your sweet retreat!
