Anderson SC Lake Life

Anderson, SC area residents have the privilege of enjoying beautiful Lake Hartwell.  Several homes are located on the lake and most include personal floating docks.  These areas are referred to as “Green Zone” lake frontage.  Some areas are beach-allowable frontage called “Yellow Zone“ and although docks are not permitted, beaching your boat is allowed.  “Red Zone” areas  are restricted and docking or beaching your boat is not allowed.  The US Army Corps of Engineers built Lake Hartwell between 1955-1963. Information about the lake can be found on their website http://www.sas.usace.army.mil/Home.aspx

Some lake front neighborhoods will have one lake access lot for all the homeowners in the subdivision to use.  This is a good cost effective way to have a dock because several boat owners share the maintenance cost of one large dock.  For Anderson residents with no lake access there are many county parks located along the lake shores allowing everyone the opportunity for lake fun.  If you love the lake and want more of it in your life, consider purchasing a lake home.  The excitement never ends when you are living the lake life.
