Having been a Realtor for over 10 years, I’ve had clients with many different requirements when it comes to buying a house; however, the criteria I’m faced with the most often is: SCHOOLS! Everyone wants their children to attend the “best” school in the community. That’s our job as parents, right?! Well, at the end of the day, crowning a school with that title is subjective and not a one-size-fits-all solution. So, when the time comes for your next move, what do you need to look for when choosing the school that is “best” suited for YOUR children? Here are some tips: ·

Read the school’s profile to review test scores and demographics. ·
Check enrollment numbers and decide if your child would thrive in large or small environment. ·
Look into the culture, curriculum and programs offered (arts, sports, music, etc.). ·
Pay a visit to see how cheerful the environment is. ·
How does the maintenance in and around the school look? ·
What professional development opportunities are available to the teachers? ·
Review the percentage of teachers who have a masters or doctorate degree. ·
See what extracurricular activities are available and level of student participation. ·
What awards and accomplishments has the school earned? ·
Read any and all parent reviews that you can get your hands on.
