Possible Anderson County New Business

Burriss Nelson, Anderson County’s economic development director, said the code-named “Project Current” would generate at least 250 jobs, but company leaders have a goal of creating 500 jobs within the first five years of opening an operation in the Upstate. The name of the company has not been made public.

If an Irish manufacturer of electrical components is enticed to build its first U.S. plant in Anderson County, that project could have a $400 million ripple effect in the region over the course of the next two decades, officials said Tuesday.
