Pickens County #God’s Country

I was reminded of this very thought today while checking in to see what had developed overnight in the lives of all my friends and acquaintances on Facebook. (A very addictive, but necessary part of my day according to my husband.) Yes, well anyway, as I scrolled down the page I came across a post from an old high school classmate who now lives in another state. She was coming home for a weekend visit. She stated she was would soon be in God’s Country to relax, catch up and be refreshed. Her comment resounded within my heart. It caused me to reflect on what a truly beautiful area we live in here in Pickens County. We are privileged to have at our fingertips so much beauty and peacefulness contained in one small part of our state. Within just minutes, you can be on a secluded mountain hiking trail deep in the woods of Table Rock or on a pontoon watching a beautiful sunset on Lake Keowee. What an opportunity and a privilege we have to call Pickens County home. It’s a wonderful place to raise a family and it seems even when life takes native residents to other parts of the country, they remember and look forward to returning to God’s Country.
